Water & Sewer Extension

This section contains information on the process for extending water and/or sewer services to properties not currently serviced by the City.

Extension Process

If Water/Sewer Mains Are Adjacent to the Property:

Any interested party may request water and/or sewer service from the City. If the service is to be provided within city limits and adequate water and sewer mains are available adjacent to the property, service will be provided upon payment of the applicable fees.

If the Service Requires Extension of a Service Main

If the service is to be provided inside or outside of city limits and adequate water/sewer mains are not available adjacent to the property, a formal application of water and/or extension must be submitted. All applicants requesting the extension of a service main must submit engineered drawings and review fees along with their formal application. If the property is outside of city limits, an application for voluntary annexation must also be submitted (see "If the Service is to be Provided Outside City Limits" below).

If the Service is to be Provided Outside City Limits

If the service is to be provided outside of city limits a formal application for voluntary annexation of the property into city limits must be submitted. Additionally, a formal application for service must be submitted. Both applications will be submitted to the City Council for consideration. Properties outside of city limits but within the ETJ (see map linked below) are not required to seek annexation.
