Subdivisions are the process by which alterations are made to the property lines of one or more parcels. Instances of this include individual lots being divided - and in some cases, recombined - or existing property lines between lots being realigned.
All subdivisions require the consent of the property owner(s) and will not be initiated without their consent. Most small-scale subdivisions, such as a shifting of property lines, can be approved following a review by the City's Planning staff. Larger subdivisions that result in the creation of new roads require a public hearing before both the Planning and Zoning Board as well as the City Council - who will either approve or deny the request.
