Employment Process

One of the primary functions of Human Resources is to attract top talent to the City of Archdale and to provide for developmental and promotional opportunities to our staff. We strive to post open position notices internally and on our website for every vacancy. The City of Archdale may also advertise externally at the same time, where appropriate.

The City of Archdale only accepts employment applications for open positions, with the exception of certified Police personnel. Applications for these positions are accepted whether or not a vacancy exists, and will be kept on file for consideration when a vacancy occurs.

Application Process

Want to become a part of a great team? The City of Archdale encourages very motivated applicants to join our team. Fill out our online application! Completed online applications will be sent directly to Human Resources once submitted. If you choose to download and send an application to Human Resources via U.S. mail, please send it to the City of Archdale at the address below. Applications are also available for pick-up at City Hall.

Applications submitted for position vacancies are carefully screened by Human Resources and the names of those best qualified are forwarded to the hiring department. There, interviews are conducted, and job offers are made. All such offers are contingent upon a satisfactory drug testing exam, background inquiry and driver’s license check.

Additional Space Needed

If the application form does not provide sufficient space for the full inclusion of education, training or work history which relates strictly to the position applied for, you may enclose supplementary pages containing this information. A resume may be attached to the completed application form, but not in lieu of the official application form. These additions, unless found to be in noncompliance with Equal Employment Opportunity guidelines, will be treated as an extension of the application form as will job-related cover letters and documentation.

Returning the Application

Do not fax your application. Only an original employment application form, signed and dated, is accepted for processing. Incomplete applications are not accepted. Return the original form, with all supplemental information, online, by hand or by mail to the address below:
